06/19/10 – The Volunteer String Band and The Howling Brothers

Bluegrass Underground is thrilled to welcome The Volunteer String Band back to the cave for it’s second performance.  Travis Stinson and his Volunteer String Band first played the cave 2 years ago during the initial sound test that confirmed the special nature of the acoustics in the Volcano Room.  Only the cave and a few folks witnessed the show that day and we hope you can join us for some hot pickin in the coolest cave around.

Known for their high-energy shows and thunderous racket, the Howling Brothers are a living gumbo of American roots music.  Mixing a bluesy lope into their string fueled sound, the trio plays a mix of old-time, bluegrass and country-blues, turning non-bluegrass lovers into fans on a daily basis.
